A message from our Head-Keeper, Wulf:

This year's sponsored walk is going to be 'Pillar Plus', and will involve ascending 'Pillar' from Wasdale Head via 'Blacksail Pass', and then doing the 'High Level Traverse' on the Ennerdale side up to the summit. The 'Highlevel Traverse' is a Wainwright classic and is not for the faint hearted. The descent from 'Pillar' will be via 'Windy Gap', and then onto 'Steeple', which quite literally lives up to it's name; being a precipitous 'spike'. From there the route then takes us onto 'Red Pike', another Lakeland Giant. The final descent will be via 'Yewbarrow', and then back to Wasdale Head. The route will be approximately 10-11 miles and will involve around 3500 feet of ascent.
